The Kenyan girl was the first portrait I ever painted. Inspired by Canadian artist, Charla Maarschalk (who teaches at Bold School and who took the photo reference for this painting!) and finding myself with an abundance of empty time during Covid quarantine – I craved something creative. Painting was always something I thought I’d get to… one day. Quarantine was the perfect “one day” and I first learned to paint portraits with this precious face.
If you’d like custom wall art, prints, or a portrait made of your loved one and you are looking for a painter to create a one-of-a-kind piece for you, I would love to chat. I offer a no-obligation, get-to-know-me Zoom call where you can tell me about the artwork you have in mind.
